Due to her failing health, Elizabeth Taylor rarely has a chance to enjoy a public outing (except, of course, when she's swimming with the sharks), so it was a rare treat to see the actress enjoying a lovely sunny day out at the Abbey (AKA the Happiest Place on Earth) in West Hollywood.
The 75-year-old actress and long-time AIDS activist suffers from osteoporosis and has battled a long list of health problems, including a benign brain tumor, congestive heart failure and in the past, she has relied on a combination of steroids and pain killers to fight her back pain.
Now, however, she has stopped taking the medications, which many of her friends blame for her often slurred speech and the occasional wacky outburst Liz has experienced in public. She's fantastic, but I think that maybe part of her problem might stem from the copious amounts of jewelry she's wears. God love her, that stuff is just too damn heavy.

I SAW ELIZABETH THAT DAY AT THE ABBEY. IT WAS KIND OF A SHOCK. HARD TO BELIEVE THIS WAS ONCE CONSIDERED THE MOST BEAUTIFUL WOMAN IN THE WORLD. AND SHE ACTUALLY WAS, I THINK. THERE HAVE BEEN NONE BEORE OR SINCE TO MATCH THAT FACE IN "CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF" OF "SUDDENLY LAST SUMMER" OR "CLEOPATRA".
