Amy Winehouse's Swollen Face Diagnosed

Remember those pictures of Amy Winehouse I posted a few days ago showing the singer with a puffy face? I couldn't really tell if it was because she was eating or if her cheeks were inflamed. Turns out poor Amy has been diagnosed with a skin infection.

It's a bacterial skin infection that causes pimple-like lumps - “ and is "is highly contagious, and scratching or touching the sores is likely to spread the infection to other parts of the body as well as to other people."

She is currently on antibiotics. Her rep has released the following statement:

"Amy has been diagnosed with impetigo which she's been told can be highly contagious. Because of that she's been put on antibiotics and may have to stay home alone for the next few days."

FWIW, you can get things like impetigo and pink eye from just touching the surface of something someone with the problem has touched.

Grocery store carts, anyone? Ugh.
