Actress Brooke Smith joins the cast of ABC's "Grey's Anatomy." Smith, who has guest starred multiple times on the series in past seasons, plays the no-nonsense, well-respected Dr. Erica Hahn, who enters the staff of Seattle Grace as its top cardiothoracic surgeon.

Smith has acted in feature films including "The Namesake," "Melinda and Melinda" and "In Her Shoes." Other films include "Series 7," "The Silence of the Lambs," Vanya on 42nd Street," "Iron Jawed Angels," "Bad Company," "Kansas City," "Last Summer in the Hamptons," "The Night We Never Met," "Mr.Wonderful," "The Moderns" and "Random Hearts."
