New cop drama premieres on the Web

NEW YORK (Hollywood Reporter) - Fox Broadcasting Co. has premiered its police drama "K-Ville" online ahead of its September 17 broadcast debut.
The series is available commercial-free for a limited time on News Corp. portals Fox.com (http://www.fox.com/kville/) and IGN.com along with AOL.com, Yahoo, TVGuide.com and others. The portals are part of the unnamed News Corp./NBC Universal joint online video venture set to launch this year.
This is an increasingly popular option for networks seeking different ways to promote new series to an online audience. Last month, Viacom's VH1 debuted its comedy "I Hate My 30s" on its official Web site and Web TV platform Joost ahead of its broadcast debut.
The New Orleans-based drama "K-Ville" stars Anthony Anderson and Cole Hauser.
