Badnews kicks the bobo with "K-Black" (Exclusive Interview!)

Posted at

Word up Son, on the independent tip my man BadNews had the chance to kick it with mc K-Black whose reppin' the danger zones of Baltimore, MD. He's a cool kid that who sent a nice track called "Why Gotta Leave Me" which the crew was really feelin' so we had to put him on the set. If i had to describe his rhyme style I'd say it's like AZ with a shot of extra realness. He's got a unique sound and a like alot of talented MCs in the game, it's just gonna be a matter of time before cuz hit's a lik and get's major exposure. Anyways, before he blows up, check out this conversation he had on the set with BadNews. Show some some love and see what's going on in the mind of K-Black yo in this convo....Oh, peep his official site son when you get a minute cuz he's got some diamonds for that earpiece.

Badnews: Whats good with you?

K-Black: Im good how you feelin?

Badnews: Im good right now thanks for asking. So how did you get into the whole rapping thing especially in B-More?

K-Black: Well its kind of weird how I started. I was real young when I started rapping at all. I was real young like in 3rd, 4th grade listening to the radio just imitating what I heard or freestyling over the music.

Badnews: Did you do anything else besides rap? You were real young so did you get into anything else?

K-Black: Well I got into football for a little bit but I stuck with rapping more than anything else. I was into Wu-Tang, you know the whole ice cream thing…. Scarface, 2pac, my mom and her boyfriend use to play 2pac all the time.

Badnews: That’s whats up. Now you were on these crazy, controversial stop snitiching DVD’s that made it all over the world, on the internet virtually everywhere. How do feel about the “Stop Snitching” movement now in 2007?

K-Black: I mean the snitching still needs to stop you know. But its crazy how it got controversial its basically comiled footage of everyone everywhere in Baltimore ...even Carmello Anthony. So its really just compiled footage.

Badnews: Yeah I know about Melo being in it they made a big deal about it over here in Denver so its crazy is just really about rappers and freestyling and Baltimore ok I see. Well how was it growing up in Baltimore… I mean the real Baltimore not The Wire Baltimore that everyone gets twisted?

K-Black: If you can make it in Baltimore you can make it anywhere. It has a NY vibe to it, it has a Southern vibe It depends on where you go it mostly has a comfortable feeling but it can get real violent. And the whole Barksdale thing is true off the wire it really happened. But Bmore is a cool city .

Badnews: Well do you think the “Stop Snitching” movement made it more violent. Like some people out there would think ok this is “Bmore we got to maintain this image”?

K-Black: Baltimore has always been like this I don’t think the DVD’s would increase violence here. Its always been like this were like number 4 on the murder rate so if anything I would say it exposed the streets of Baltimore to everyone, not make it more violent.

Badnews: Ok I see. Now lets get back into the music, whats good with you now anything going down?

K-Black: Well I just been grinding. Ever since the DVD’s it has put my name out there so i've been doing mixtapes working with Kay Slay. I've been doing shows around Baltimore doing a whole bunch of mixtapes just trying to keep my name hot.

Badnews: That’s whats up, you sound like you been doing your thing. Ok and finally, whats the best advice you can give to a rapper in your position right now?

K-Black: Just stay on the grind. Be different, perfect your sound and get your name out there that’s how you really succeed.

Badnews: Great advice. Ok thanks a lot we got to do this again.

K-Black: No doubt thanks for doing this.

Awright then, hope you enjoyed that and took notes. Yo, we gonna have some more from K-Black in the near future. Stay tuned...
